RANVILLE WAR CEMETERY

This is the final resting place of some of the men of the 6TH AIRBOURNE DIVISION who were landed by glider and parachute to take the bridges over the ORNE and Caen Canal.

THE BRITISH CEMETERY RANVILLE

Just a few of the 2,566 burials in this cemetery.

THE FAMOUS AMERICAN PARATROOPER

He was made famous in the movie THE LONGEST DAY. John Steel was his name.

AIRBOURNE MUSEUM

Just oposite the church and the paratrooper.

WELL DUG IN

These bunkers and gun batteries were built to last.

UNDERGROUD LIVING

Now open as a museum it is well worth a visit to see how the Germans were able to live.

THEN

A camp built by the Americans and Germans to house 40,000 German prisoners.

NOW

After the prisoners were moved to England,Canada and various other countries the camp was dismantled and now we just have a memorial.

GUN STILL IN PLACE

A batterie of 4 guns still in place. The firing pin taken out I suspect.

LOOK OUT

These positions were used to guide the guns to their targets.

THE AMERICAN WAR CEMETERY AT OMAHA BEACH.

A must see for any tour.

PEGASUS BRIDGE

Some time needs to be spent at this location because of the history associated with this bridge.

PEGASUS CAFE

The first house to be liberated after taking the bridge.

HE WILL NOT LISTEN
